This shortcut video is for Close Protection and Surveillance Officers.

Excellentia are the leading Close Protection Company in London and as such we thought it would be beneficial to provide some helpful tips, our first video focuses on iPhone keyboard shortcuts.

As security professionals we are often limited for time, a prime example of this may be we are in London at a location such as Harrods and the client decides to leave the premises at short notice.

Due to the size of such a large building, radio communication can be difficult or it’s possible as a bodyguard working within London that maybe you don’t even have a radio, so as you are walking towards the door with the client, instead of typing out “We are on our way” you can just type in the short cut you have previously loaded.

For Example: EN5 – could produce ‘En-route 5 Min’.

Anybody can create a shortcut for whatever operation they are on and for whatever code words they require.

So save yourself some time and effort, watch our video or read the step by step guide below and set up iPhone keyboard shortcuts for any and all of the text you type regularly.

By default, the iPhone and iPad ship with “omw” as a shortcut for “On my way!” but you can create and customise any shortcut you want. What’s more, thanks to iCloud, any shortcut you create will automatically sync between your iPhone, iPad, and/or Mac. Here’s how!

1. Go to settings on your iPhone.
